Verified admits to the same college and class year, in one place. Find roommates, compare aid offers, ask what the dorms are actually like, with people who have proved they got in.

Reporting an admission

Submit the college, the class year, your university email and your admit letter.

Verification

A claim auto-verifies when it has both an attached admit letter and a .edu address. Anything less lands in a pending state.

This is decent evidence, not proof. A production deployment should also confirm the email domain belongs to the admitting college and mail a one-time code to that address. The current rule is documented here rather than hidden because it is the weakest link in the feature.

Your admit letter is stored privately and is never shown to other members. It exists only to verify you.

Groups

One group per college per class year, created automatically the first time someone verifies. Verified admits become members immediately; membership alone does not grant chat access.

Subscription

Group chat is $4.99/month. Posting requires an active subscription, not just membership. Cancel any time, your verified admit stays on your account either way.

No payment processor is connected. Subscribing toggles the flag without charging. Wiring Stripe means calling checkout at subscribe and setting the flag from the webhook.

Privacy inside a group

Joining a group does not make your profile public. That is a separate switch, off by default, inside the group itself.

  • With it off, you can read and post; you are not listed in the member directory.
  • With it on, other members of that group only see your name and whatever intro you write.
  • Nothing from your dashboard, documents or applications is ever exposed.
  • If you also have a published seller profile, members see a link to it.

Why gate it at all

The value is that everyone in the room has proved they got in. Unverified admitted-student groups on social platforms fill with people who did not, and with sellers. Verification plus a small subscription is what keeps the signal.
